What our clients say
Trying to decide if we're the right fit for you? Here's what past clients have had to say about working with us!
“We had a great training experience with Lindsay! She was able to listen to our concerns and create a plan tailored to our dog’s needs as well as our own. She made sessions fun, easy to understand, and adjustable if there was something that wasn’t working.
It was clear that Lindsay truly cared about our dog and catered her sessions specifically to suit him. Lindsay was personable, easy to talk to, and answered any questions we had in between sessions. We cannot recommend Root For Your Dog highly enough! “

“Lindsay is the best! She is thorough, attentive, and extremely helpful. We rescued a pup with fearful aggressive behavior, and, in just a few sessions with Lindsay, we saw changes in our dog’s behavior and knew how to avoid triggering situations. Lindsay answers questions outside of our training sessions and sends detailed follow-up emails, including everything we went over and any additional tips, tricks, videos, or articles for us to reference.
Aside from that, she collaborates with our vet to prepare for veterinary care. We would recommend Lindsay to anyone for training, whether it be for simple obedience training or for more advanced behavior training. You know that your dog is in good hands with Lindsay and our dog absolutely adores her, which to us says a lot!”

"We have had the pleasure of attending both in-person and virtual dog training sessions led by Lindsay. She has a great sense of humor and instantly puts both people and dogs at ease! Her ability to read dogs allows her to navigate group sessions effortlessly while making changes on the fly to better suit a dog's needs and personality.
Her virtual sessions during the pandemic were highly engaging (for both us and our dog) and we looked forward to them each week! Each one of our sessions with Lindsay, whether in person or virtual, built upon any previous training, and the instructions were always clear and intuitive.
We highly recommend booking time with Lindsay, because you and your dog(s) will instantly connect with her. You'll not only gain an excellent dog trainer, but an amazing friend!"

“We initially heard about Lindsay from family members who used her for training their Rottweiler. Bella is the best behaved dog I know. When I found a stray dog on the streets who was emaciated, I knew we were going to have some serious training ahead of us. Lindsay emailed back very quickly. She found time in her busy schedule to help us keep this dog as a family member.
They pretty much bonded immediately. Lindsay is so knowledgeable and can really connect with the dog and their owners. Some days were instructional and some days felt like therapy. We were really struggling. Lindsay really finds a special way to help you connect with your pet. Lindsay can read these little nuances in pet behaviors and hone in on ways to redirect. I love watching my husband implementing her verbal cues & gestures with our dog.
Lindsay is a godsend and we are all so lucky to have her in our life. Lindsay was a game changer and now, because of her, we are on our way to helping this dog be a part of our family!!!!”

“Lindsay has been a life savior. We used her services when we rescued our first pittie who struggled with separation anxiety and reactivity. It went so well that we knew we needed her help when we adopted our second dog. Before Lindsay’s help, our second dog Charlie was too scared to leave the house and now he’s the first at the door and loves his walkies. She also gave us great advice on how to make sure our two dogs coexist happily. Now they don’t just coexist, they are inseparable and the best of friends.
Lindsay is very clear with her communication and not only instructs how to do the drills but why as well. She continues checking in on how the dogs are doing well beyond her responsibilities and outside our lessons. These check-ins really express how much Lindsay truly cares about the dogs (and humans) she is working with. We cannot recommend her more.”

My adopted dog, Benito, became so anxious and fearful of leaving the house that he would hide in the bathroom and refuse to leave. When I did get him outside, he would tremble uncontrollably and couldn’t get much further than one or two blocks from the house. Before even meeting Lindsay, I knew she was the right fit. As a therapist who works with anxiety in humans, her approach connected with me: she was thoughtful, validating, and trauma-informed in her approach to treating anxiety in dogs.
From our first meeting, she connected with Benito and provided me with incredibly helpful information about what was going on for him. She provided manageable, practical strategies and approaches for me to implement independently. I was feeling very overwhelmed trying to manage Benito’s anxiety, and the way she broke down the training goals and tasks made me feel confident and able to take them on. She was responsive not only to Benito’s unique anxieties but also to his personality – she truly tailored the training approach to our needs as pet and owner.
Now, after just a few months, Benito is doing incredibly! feel more confident in knowing how to support him and motivate him. We are continuing to work on building his confidence and trust when feeling triggered, and Lindsay continues to adapt our training to meet his changing needs! I cannot recommend Lindsay enough – she is not only incredibly knowledgeable and creative, but is also a lovely human who makes training feel approachable and judgment-free."
